Derek Plant was born and raised in a small town in Southwestern Colorado where he grew up exploring the San Juan Mountains. Derek attended Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado where he earned a Bachelor degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management. He managed a timeshare, creating deep-rooted relationships with his homeowners and colleagues who always spoke highly of him. Ready for a change of scenery, Derek and his wife relocated to Bend, Oregon in 2019 where they fell in love with the beauty and community of Bend.

Derek, worked as an Assistant General Manager for a short term rental company in Sunriver, Oregon. He discovered his passion for real estate after working specifically with homeowners and their prospective renters. After the birth of his daughter, Derek decided to shift from hospitality management to pursue real estate. Working several years in hospitality management, Derek has mastered the ability to stay calm in stressful situations, communicate effectively and seek creative solutions for his clients.

When Derek is not focused on real estate, you will find him taking advantage of the outdoor activities with his wife, one year old daughter and two dogs (Banchi and Benson). With years of experience in hospitality you can guarantee Derek will strive to provide the best possible experience for you.
