Born in Georgetown, SC, Elizabeth grew up in a house built in 1737 that was meticulously restored by her parents, Jane Risher and Hap Hazzard. There, history and craftsmanship mingled to inform a deep love and respect within her for architecture and design. With both of her parents involved in the real estate industry, Elizabeth was raised with a profound understanding of the intricacies of the business. After spending a portion of her high school career in Paris France, Elizabeth went on to attend the College of Charleston, pursuing her love of art through the study of sculpture and design. After graduating, Elizabeth moved to Philadelphia, PA, to manage a high-end conservation and restoration studio. Southerners at heart, Elizabeth and her husband Brian eventually returned to Columbia, South Carolina and purchased a historic Sears Craftsman cottage where they lived for over a decade while raising their four young children. During this time, Elizabeth continued exploring her passion for home and design by founding The Well Curated Home, a marketplace for hand-painted furniture and one of a kind homewares. In the late spring of 2019, Elizabeth finally got her wish to experience the magical lowcountry of her childhood by returning to the Charleston area. She and her family currently live on Johns Island where they are rediscovering the rich beauty of the area.
