As the son of United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (NJ), Josh certainly had the opportunity for a career in politics but he chose the lifestyle of the Vail Valley instead. Josh moved to Vail in 1991 and began a long career as a Ski Instructor (he still teaches part time) and quickly moved up in the ranks to Trainer for the Vail/Beaver Creek Ski School. As Trainer, Josh coached other instructors on their skiing and teaching techniques. In addition to teaching skiing, Josh has been a world-class competitor in Powder 8 skiing. He and his partner won the European Powder 8 Championships in 1997 in Samnaun, Switzerland and the Eastern Powder 8 Championships in Jay Peak, VT. He has appeared many times on the Outdoor Life Network as a competitor in the World Powder 8 Championships at Mike Weigele Helicopter Skiing in British Columbia. Josh still competes to this day. In 1998 Josh decided it was time for something new. Coming from teaching skiing, where the focus is always on the needs of the student, he thought selling real estate would be the perfect segue. He was able to quickly apply the same customer service skills he had learned to provide his students on the mountain to his clients in the real estate business. He realized that, like his ski school students, his real estate clients needed to be listened to attentively to understand their goals and thus to provide them with the proper guidance. Whether negotiating a black diamond or a sales contract, Josh ensures his charge will always have him by their side to make it to the end result safely and successfully and always enjoy the way there! Since 1998, Josh has strived to provide each and every client with the utmost in personal service and attention to detail. He has acted in every transaction with integrity and honesty and as a true advocate for his clients every step of the way. Look for Josh out in the Back Bowls of Vail with his friends and family or on his bike riding the legendary mountain biking trails throughout the Vail Valley. Although Josh always works hard for his clients, he never forgets why he moved here in 1991 - to live the Vail lifestyle! He lives in Edwards with his wife Christina, daughter Hannah, and son Sam.
