Wanda Williams combines her love for people with her passion for real estate by helping clients
realize their dream of owning a home - the American Dream!
For 30 years, Wanda was an Environmental Quality Specialist with the State of Michigan's
Department of Public Health, Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of
Environmental Quality. While employed with the State of Michigan, Wanda began working in
the real estate industry, in 1988. Then, she opened her own business, Babycakes Unique
Boutique, providing fashionable attire to women around the world for 12 years.
As a Realtor® and associate broker, Wanda has represented residential and commercial buyers
and sellers for Real Estate One, Westdale's Better Homes and Gardens, Coldwell Banker
Hubbell, Keller Williams, Century 21 Cedarwood and her own company America's Dream
Realty. Wanda is actively involved in the real estate industry including the National Association
of Realtors® and the Greater Lansing Association of Realtors®. She is also a member of the
Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and a "recognized" major RPAC investor; a
member of the Michigan Realtors Convention Task Force; the Greater Lansing Association of
Realtors® (GLAR) Public Policy Committee; the Community Enhancement Committee; and the
Pro Standards Committee.
Previously, Wanda was a member of the Greater Lansing Association of Realtors® Grievance
Committee. Also, she is the Past President of the Lansing Women's Council of Realtors®, and
the Past Secretary of the Michigan Women's Council of Realtors®. In 2018, Wanda was voted
Member of the Year of the Lansing Women's Council of Realtors®.
Wanda illustrates her love and respect for people through her community involvement. She
served as President of "the" Boutique for Women and Children at the former Ingham Medical
Hospital. Also, Wanda worked as a volunteer at the Ingham County Medical Care facility's gift
shop and visited the facility's patients.
Moreover, Wanda demonstrates her love for people through her social responsibility initiatives.
She supports Cleaner, Safer, Healthier Communities as proven in her advocacy for the cleanup
of the former Kmart site on S. Cedar in Lansing, Michigan. The property was a dumpsite and
eyesore. Her activism included participation and discussions with the City Council, making the
public-at-large aware of the issue through numerous media interviews, and rallying support for
the successful sale of the building to a Fortune 500 Company - U-Haul. Wanda's community
activism resulted in an active taxpayer purchasing the property and cleaning up the land, which
improved the well-being of the community.
In the frosty winter of 2020, Wanda's love for people continued, when she built relationships
with the occupants of Lansing's notorious Tent City delivering meals to families, and an
occasional bottle of wine to the men and women residing there. She also gave them Christmas
cards with money and other personal necessities such as boots and gloves. Additionally, at her
own expense, Wanda took immigrant children to movie theaters because they had never had
the experience. She strongly believes all people should be treated with dignity and respect.
Wanda is also a member and the treasurer of the Order of Eastern Star with the International
Free & Accepted Masons, Inc. Through this organization, Wanda continues to display her
affection and love for people by serving the needy and indigent and uplifting the community
from a Biblical perspective.
Wanda is an Instructor for the ACME Institute teaching the Michigan Fundamentals of Real
Estate to those interested in taking the State License Real Estate exam. She is also an Instructor
for the Capital Area Housing Partnership teaching first-time home buyers about the home
buying process.
Additionally, Wanda is a successful student of Toastmasters - a nationally recognized speaking
organization. Wanda received her Master's Degree in Public Administration from Western
Michigan University, and her Bachelor of Science Degree from Eastern Michigan University with
emphasis in microbiology and biochemistry.
Wanda loves to travel. She has been to 35 of the states in the USA as well as extensively
traveled Europe and the Caribbean. On a personal note, Wanda loves all animals, but especially
"LOVES" her two dogs, two birds, and Koi fish pond. She also is very passionate about
gardening, cooking and "LOVES" ballroom dancing.
